Druridge Bay Country Park
Friday 30th July to Sunday 1st August 2027
Druridge Bay Country Park, Northumberland
More than 600 people came through the gates in 2026.
In 2027, we’re going even bigger.
Heart & Soul Fest is the biggest fitness festival in the North, and our ambition is to build it into the biggest fitness festival in Europe.
This isn’t a race with a few activities added around it. It is a full weekend festival built around running, fitness, wellness, live music, food, adventure and community, all taking place beside the incredible Northumberland coast.
We listened to your feedback from 2026.
For 2027, our first ticket release will be focused on full weekend tickets. Your ticket will include festival access and camping from Friday through to Sunday, giving you more time to experience everything Heart & Soul Fest has to offer.
Activities will begin from 12pm on Friday and continue right through until Sunday afternoon.
One ticket. One campsite. One full weekend of fitness, music, wellness and community.
Come with your run club, your gym, your teammates, your family or your friends.
This is your Fitness Glasto.
This is Heart & Soul Fest.
Heart Break Lake is back and will once again be the headline event of the festival.
In 2027, there will be four different editions of the run taking place across Saturday and Sunday, giving more people the opportunity to get involved.
At the heart of Heart Break Lake is the team experience.
Get your run club, gym, workplace, family or group of friends together and take on the challenge as a team.
You can run together, split into smaller groups, take breaks, complete laps at your own pace and decide how you want to approach the event.
This is not a traditional relay where only one person can be on the course at a time.
Heart Break Lake gives your team the freedom to run your way.
You can chase a huge team distance, support one another throughout the challenge, complete your first ultra distance, run alongside your friends or simply enjoy being part of one of the best-supported running events in the country.
The team challenge is designed to be accessible, social and unforgettable.
The 24-hour event is the ultimate Heart Break Lake experience.
Teams will have 24 hours to complete as many laps as they can, with the freedom to decide how they take on the challenge.
Run together.
Run in smaller groups.
Take turns.
Rest when you need to.
Get back out there when your teammates need you.
Your campsite and team base will sit at the heart of the event, creating an incredible community atmosphere throughout the day and night.
Because your ticket includes camping and access across the full weekend, you can arrive on Friday, set up your team base and enjoy the full opening day before the racing begins.
You’ll have time to take part in activities, explore the wellness area, eat with your teammates and enjoy the Friday night pre-party before Heart Break Lake begins on Saturday.
Once your 24 hours are complete, you can recover, celebrate and continue enjoying the festival through to Sunday afternoon.
No rushing home as soon as the race finishes.
More time to recover.
More time with your teammates.
More time to enjoy the wellness space, food, music, beach and everything else happening across the weekend.
Solo entries will also be available for runners looking to take on the specialist endurance challenge.
The solo 24-hour event is designed for experienced runners who want to test themselves physically and mentally across the full duration.
Solo runners will still be surrounded by the support, music and community atmosphere of Heart Break Lake, but the solo category will remain a specialist option within the wider team-focused event.
Further information on all four Heart Break Lake editions, including team sizes, formats and start times, will be announced soon.
Our outdoor functional fitness arena will return for 2027.
Take on a fast-paced combination of running and functional fitness movements in one of the most exciting atmospheres of the weekend.
Solo and paired categories will be available, with more information on divisions, workouts and entry options coming soon.
The Mini Deep North Run will return, giving younger participants the chance to experience the excitement, atmosphere and finish-line feeling of Heart & Soul Fest.
This fun, family-friendly event is designed to inspire the next generation and help children become part of the Heart & Soul community.
And, of course, there will be doughnuts.
In 2027, the afterparty becomes the pre-party.
All Heart Break Lake events will take place across Saturday and Sunday, meaning Friday is dedicated to opening the festival in style.
You’ll be able to arrive from 12pm, set up camp, meet your teammates and enjoy a full afternoon and evening of activities, food, wellness and entertainment before any racing begins.
And because nobody has raced yet, everyone should still have enough energy left to dance.
The Friday night pre-party will feature:
Top headline acts
Live bands
DJs
Licensed bars
Street food
Festival entertainment
Run club meet-ups
Team celebrations
The full Heart & Soul atmosphere
This is your chance to start the weekend together, catch up with old friends, meet new people and enjoy the biggest night of the festival before taking on your challenge.
The full Friday night lineup will be announced closer to the event.
Our dedicated wellness space will return even bigger for 2027.
Across the weekend, you can expect a packed programme including:
Yoga
Pilates
Guided meditation
Breathwork
Group ice baths
Saunas
Recovery sessions
Mobility sessions
Talks and workshops
Much more still to be announced
The expanded weekend format means you will have more time to experience the wellness programme around your chosen event.
You won’t have to choose between taking part in your race and enjoying everything else the festival has to offer.
Friday will give every runner the opportunity to explore the wellness area before any Heart Break Lake events begin.
Some activities will be available throughout the weekend, while selected sessions may need to be booked in advance due to limited capacity.
We’re expanding the festival programme and making even more of our incredible coastal location.
New additions planned for 2027 include:
Guided hikes
Group sea dips
A beach BBQ
More run clubs
More social runs
More fitness sessions
More vendors
More street food
More recovery experiences
More wellness activities
More family activities
More opportunities to meet new people and try something different
And this is only the beginning.
The main festival arena will be at the heart of the weekend and will include:

Licensed bars
Street food and food vendors
Fitness and lifestyle brands
Wellness activities

Evening entertainment
Our full music, fitness, wellness and entertainment programme will be announced in the build-up to the festival.
Heart & Soul Fest is designed to be experienced as a full weekend, not as one standalone race or activity.
Following feedback from 2026, the first tickets released for 2027 will include:
Festival access from Friday to Sunday
Weekend camping
Your selected race or competition entry
Access to the main festival arena
The Friday night pre-party
Live music and entertainment
General wellness activities
Food and vendor areas
Run club and community activities
Access to the wider festival programme
This means you can arrive on Friday, set up camp, enjoy the pre-party, take part in your event across Saturday or Sunday and stay through until the festival closes.
No separate arena pass.
No separate grass camping ticket.
No arriving for one event and missing the rest of the weekend.
One ticket gives you the full Heart & Soul Fest experience.
Selected limited-capacity activities may still require advance booking, but these will be clearly identified before the festival.
Weekend camping is included within your festival ticket.
Your camping pitch will become your base for the weekend, whether you are taking part in Heart Break Lake, competing in HSR Hybrid, supporting your friends or enjoying the wider festival.
Heart Break Lake teams will be able to create their own team base close to the course, giving them somewhere to rest, refuel, support their runners and enjoy the atmosphere throughout the challenge.
Camping will be available from Friday through to Sunday.
Maximum pitch and team-base sizes, arrival information and campsite rules will be confirmed in the full event guide.
VIP camping and hard-standing pitches are available as an optional extra for motorhomes, campervans and caravans. These pitches are separate from the included grass camping and must be added during the booking process, subject to availability. There is no vehicle access to the tent camoing area- so if you want to bring your motor home please add this option. We have very limited space for this.

Heart Break Lake is about sharing the experience.
It is about putting together a team of friends and seeing what you can achieve together.
It is about the runner completing their first-ever lap, the teammate reaching a distance they never thought was possible and the group still cheering one another on in the middle of the night.
It is competitive if you want it to be.
It is challenging if you want it to be.
But above everything else, it is about community.
Get your run club together.
Get your gym involved.
Challenge another workplace.
Bring your family.
Build your team and get ready for something unforgettable.
Heart & Soul Fest was created to bring people together.
It is somewhere to challenge yourself, discover a new activity, see old friends and make new ones.
It is a place where run clubs, gyms, families, experienced athletes, first-timers and weekend festival-goers can all share the same space.
More than 600 people joined us in 2026.
In 2027, we’re making it bigger, better and more unforgettable than ever.
One ticket. One team. One unforgettable weekend.
Dance on Friday. Race on Saturday. Celebrate on Sunday.
This is more than a race.
This is your Fitness Glasto.
This is Heart & Soul Fest 2027.

The journey from Alnwick usually takes around 25 to 35 minutes.

Please allow additional time during busy summer weekends.
Parking and Arrival
Festival parking information will be sent to all ticket holders before the event.
Please do not assume that the park’s usual public car parks will be used for festival parking. Follow the event signage and instructions from our parking team when you arrive.
Where possible, we encourage attendees to travel together and share vehicles.

Travelling by Train
There is no railway station directly at Druridge Bay Country Park, so anyone arriving by train will need to arrange an onward taxi, lift or other transport to the festival site.
We strongly recommend booking your onward journey in advance, particularly for Friday afternoon and Sunday evening.
Newcastle Central Station
Newcastle Central is the main transport hub for attendees travelling from elsewhere in the UK.
It has direct rail connections from cities including:
London
Edinburgh
Glasgow
Leeds
York
Manchester
Birmingham
Durham
From Newcastle, you can continue by train to Morpeth or Ashington before completing your journey by taxi.
You can also travel directly by taxi from Newcastle, although this will be a longer and more expensive journey.
Morpeth Station
Morpeth is one of the most convenient mainline stations for reaching the festival.
Morpeth has rail connections with Newcastle and services on the East Coast route. From Morpeth Station, Druridge Bay Country Park is approximately a 20 to 30-minute drive.
We recommend pre-booking a taxi from Morpeth, especially if travelling with camping equipment.
Ashington Station
Ashington is connected to Newcastle by the Northumberland Line.
From Ashington Station, you will need to arrange a taxi or lift for the remaining journey to Druridge Bay Country Park.
Ashington may be a useful option for attendees travelling from Newcastle, but please check current train times and arrange your onward transport before travelling.
Widdrington Station
Widdrington is geographically one of the closest railway stations to Druridge Bay Country Park.
However, services are more limited than at Newcastle or Morpeth, and there is no direct public transport connection from the station to the festival site.
A pre-booked taxi or arranged lift will be required.
Please check carefully that your chosen train stops at Widdrington before booking your journey.
Alnmouth Station
Alnmouth is another option for attendees travelling from Edinburgh, Scotland or further north.
From Alnmouth Station, you will need to continue by taxi towards Amble and Druridge Bay Country Park.
The onward journey will generally be longer than travelling from Morpeth, so we recommend comparing train times, taxi availability and total journey costs before booking.
Travelling by Bus
Public bus services operate through nearby communities including Hadston, Red Row and Amble, but buses do not take passengers directly into the Heart & Soul Fest site.
The remaining journey may involve a substantial walk along local roads, which may not be suitable when carrying tents, bags or other festival equipment.
Bus routes and timetables can also change, particularly on Sundays and bank holiday weekends. Please check the latest timetable before travelling and do not rely on an unconfirmed connection.
For most attendees using public transport, travelling by train to Morpeth or Ashington and pre-booking a taxi will be the easiest option.
Travelling by Taxi
Local taxi availability may be limited during busy summer weekends.
We recommend:
Booking both your arrival and return journeys in advance
Confirming that the driver can carry your camping equipment
Sharing taxis with teammates or friends
Allowing extra time for Friday arrivals
Agreeing a clear collection location for Sunday
Do not wait until you arrive at the station to assume a taxi will be available.
Campervans and Motorhomes
Weekend grass camping is included with festival tickets, but campervans and motorhomes cannot be parked within the grass festival campsite.
Hard-standing campervan and motorhome pitches are separate from the festival camping area and must be booked through the Druridge Bay Country Park campsite system, subject to availability.
Booking a campervan pitch does not automatically include entry to Heart & Soul Fest. Every attendee must also hold the appropriate festival ticket.
Cycling and Walking
Druridge Bay Country Park is connected to the surrounding coastal area by walking and cycling routes.
However, attendees should consider the amount of camping equipment they will be carrying and the limited lighting on some rural roads and paths.
Anyone planning to walk or cycle should research their route in advance and use suitable lights, reflective clothing and safety equipment.
Plan Your Journey Early
Heart & Soul Fest takes place during the summer holiday period, so trains, local accommodation, taxis and campervan pitches may become busy.
Please plan your journey early and check live travel information before setting off.
Final festival-specific travel, parking and arrival instructions will be sent to ticket holders before the event.
Arrive Friday. Set up camp. Enjoy the pre-party. Race across Saturday and Sunday.
