Everyone has a target. For some, it’s 3 yards. For others, it’s 100.
Whatever your goal, this event is built for you.
LSD [Last Standing Distance] is Heart & Soul Racing’s take on the world-famous Backyard Ultra format — a true test of endurance, mindset, and resilience.
There’s no finish line, no cut-offs, and no limit. Just you, the trail, and the clock.
Part of the Big Dog’s Backyard Ultra World Championship Association, LSD follows the official international rules and format.
Run a 4.167-mile (6.7 km) loop every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains — the Last Standing.
Everyone else receives a DNF (Did Not Finish) no matter how far they go.
Whether you’re running for 3 laps or 30, LSD is designed to be accessible for all abilities while offering a serious test for those chasing record-breaking distances.
Located at West Benridge Farm, Morpeth (Northumberland), the route runs over farmland, scenic trails, and ancient woodland.
Expect a flat and fast course with around 200 ft of ascent and descent per loop, giving everyone the best chance to go the distance.
The course is fully marked, looping back each hour to the main HQ field where food, first aid, and your personal camp area await.
Toilets and first aid on site
Food vendors serving hot food and drinks (payable separately)
Parking included for all athletes and crew
Athlete camping included on main field (1 x 3x3m gazebo or tent per runner)
Overflow camping for supporters/crew (£20 per tent)
Well-behaved pets allowed
Closed fire pits permitted only in the overflow field (not in the athlete area)
Live stream and free professional photography throughout the event
Bring your gazebo or tent and set up your mini base at HQ — this is where you’ll rest, eat, and recover between laps.
There’s only one winner at LSD. Everyone else… DNF.
The Last Standing takes home £500 in Start Fitness vouchers — and serious bragging rights as the first Backyard champion of the North.
Everyone else will receive a finisher item (to be announced).
We want to bring the best to the North.
